They Settled In: From North Carolina to Kentucky to Dresden

The Dresden History Group (and Archives) operates under the sponsorship of the Catherine McVean Chapter of the IODE.  It includes a local working committee which is developing the Dresden Archives, a collection of archival materials and small artifacts related to the history of Dresden and area. The group also organizes small exhibits and events including displays, tours, and spirit walks,  assists visiting researchers, and operates the 2,500 member Facebook discussion page “The Dresden Virtual History Group”. Co-chairs are Jim Griffin and founder Marie Carter.  The Archives is open by emailing mcarter02@outlook.com for an appointment. Volunteers and donations are always appreciated as are inquiries about our archival collection.
